A brow lift, also referred to as a forehead lift, restores a more youthful, refreshed, and cheery look to the forehead, eye brows and upper eyelid areas. By removing excess skin and muscle, the procedure corrects drooping brows, improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make you look angry, sad or tired, and tightens the skin of the upper eyelid. An endoscopic approach is used through tiny incisions hidden in the hair.
Sometimes, as a result of heredity or an injury, the chin does not develop in proper proportion with the rest of the face. A small chin alters the proper proportional balance of the face, making a nose look larger than it actually is. Chin surgery (mentoplasty) is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery of the chin bone, restoring that proper balance. It can also make a short neck look longer, achieving a little tightening of the skin in the process.
Ear surgery (Otoplasty) improves the shape, position or proportion of the ear. It can correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth that becomes apparent with development or it can treat misshapen ears caused by injury. Ear surgery creates a natural shape, while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. Correction of even minor deformities can have profound benefits to appearance and self-esteem.
Droopy upper eyelids and puffy bags under the eyes can make you look older and more tired than you feel. Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) improves the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. It gives a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area of your eyes, making you look more rested and alert.
When possible, Dr. Moran performs a special lower eyelid surgery called transconjunctival blepharoplasty, or TCB. Instead of a skin incision, a small surgical incision is made inside the lower eyelid, usually with a electrocautery, to remove a portion of the fat pads. No stitches are required and patients have no visible scars. Unlike conventional blepharoplasty methods, TCB does not harm the muscles under the eyelids and there is a lower chance of lid pull-down.
As we age, the skin of the face and neck loosen. Age, sun exposure, gravity, and genetics all contribute to skin changes. Fine lines become wrinkles, and gradually deeper folds. The jaw line softens into jowls, and beneath the chin excess skin starts to sag. With the aging of the U.S. population, the facelift (Rhytidectomy) procedure has become the third most performed facial cosmetic procedure.
Nose surgery (Rhinoplasty) , also referred to as “nose reshaping” or a “nose job,” improves the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial harmony and self confidence. It may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose.
Laser-assisted facial liposuction is similar to traditional liposuction in that is is used for removing fat in the facial areas. However, this type is believed to also stimulate collagen production in the skin, which may in turn offer some additional skin-tightening benefits. Like traditional liposuction, it is not a weight control method or a fix for obesity. It is used to help contour those areas of your face that are not responsive to diet and exercise.
Whether recommended as a cosmetic procedure or part of a caner prevention regimen, most mole removals are fairly simple minimally-invasive procedures. There are several techniques, including skin excision (may require stitches), depending on the size, depth, location, and other characteristics of the mole.
A neck lift is a set of procedures to enhance the appearance of your neck. Procedures can include:
- Removing excess skin
- Removing or altering neck muscles
- Liposuction to remove excess fat
- Botox injections to address problems with fullness or “bands”
